The Staff at Play and Learn

Bilingual Speech and Language Pathologist
Play and Learn was founded by Rosa Fernandez, an experienced speech-language pathologist who has specialized in preschool and Early Intervention populations. She has had extensive training in psychology, specifically in child development. With over twenty years of experience, Rosa has developed the Play and Learn unique method: A therapeutic and educational concept with a holistic view of the child in which the playing experience, together with families, environment and learning, build a virtuous cycle on children’s development.

Lead Teacher
Mariah received her Bachelor’s Degree from Truman State University (Columbia, Missouri) in Biology. While Mariah’s original passion has always been Marine Biology and Conservation, her second passion is children. She has been taking care of and teaching children of varied ages for the past 10 years. Due to her love of the world around her, particularly the ocean, she enjoys teaching children through hands on, up close and personal learning experiences that will engage and excite them. Encouraging them to want to learn more about the amazing world they live in and how to take care of it! She is loving, responsible, organized and passionate about what she does!
